picture the holidays: day 6

prompt: every little thing

Much of the joy in my life comes from my boys' interpretation of things.  Every child has a different view of the world.  Their eyes are not jaded by society or experience.  They know nothing but what comes to mind and they are not afraid to share.

The little thing that caught my attention this morning is "Mr Jim the donkey".  I see this wooden donkey every single day and it always brings a smile to my face.  When some friends of ours went to Israel last summer, Braeden asked them to bring him back Mary's donkey. They brought him this small wooden donkey, he named it Mr. Jim (after the friend who brought it back) and Mr. Jim the donkey goes everywhere. Everywhere. We have turned around and driven 20 minutes back home to get Mr. Jim. We even once went back into Epcot to find Mr. Jim.

That little wooden donkey drives me crazy but it is the "little thing" that brings a little magic to our life.  We spend hours looking for this wooden donkey and while, in the moment, it drive me nuts, I love that Braeden finds joy and pleasure in something to simple.  It's more than joy and pleasure.  It's love.
