The photos I took of some friends' infant daughter will not be posted online. They asked they she not be "put in the net" and I respect that.
The second shoot I had recently was of another friend's Great Dane, Lucy. Lucy was just like a toddler. She learned that I was trying to do something, that I wanted her to sit still, and she'd take off as soon as I got the focus set. Taking Lucy's photos turned into a game. The friend who asked me to take these photos does not have any human children. She's GREAT with kids but life just did not take her down a road that led to having children of her own. So Lucy is her daughter. She and her husband love this dog just like a human child. It shows!
While photographing Lucy, I also snuck in a few of her mommy too. My favorite shots of both are below.

I have never been a big fan of photos who have processed with "selective coloring". I have always thought that B&W's should be B&W and color photos should be color--not a combination of the two. Lucy's mommy asked me to reprocess one of her photos with selective coloring. I have to admit that I like it. It has WAY more personality than the B&W version and isn't too cluttered and overwhelming like the color original.

So glad you posted the pics. Lucy loved playing with you once she realized that you weren't going to take her stick, the clicking noise wasn't going to "get" her and that you must be doing something important with that thing (camera) in your hand to not rub her head a time or two.
